“My experience as a seamstress, sewing my own clothing since I was 6, has instilled in me a love of color, texture, and construction.

My work as a collage artist is a departure from the strict order that is required in making garments; a rebellion-of-sorts, that is freeing. I make collage and encaustic paintings to get out of my own head and to take a creative adventure. Working with paint, encaustic medium, torn paper, and random objects, with all of their colors and textures, is a very exciting experience, where I never know what will happen. The process is the most important; the result is always a surprise. My goal is to create rich images that freeze a moment in time. Nearly all of my collages have stories. If you ask me, I would surely tell you my story, but I prefer to let you find your own private connection with what you see.”
